The Oregon Foundation for Greek Studies


The purpose of Foundation is to encourage, facilitate and support Modern and Clasical Greek studies at Portland State University. To achive this goal the foundation:

Raises funds to support:
(a) the development of courses, programs, and activities;
(b) provide financial support to qualified students of Greek studies;
(c) exchanges with scholars from Greece;
(d) public events related to Greek studies, including periodical lectures;
(e) students undertaking advanced work in Greek Studies;
(f) library acquisitions, with special emphasis on Modern Greek;
(g) publications related to Modern Greek topics;
(h) instruction in Modem Greek language; and
(i) in-service classes in Modern Greek topics for elementary and high school teachers
